Extra fine merino wool yarn 19.5µm

Compared to other types of wool, merino wool is always fine and soft, generally less than 24 micron (μm) in diameter. Yet, it is graded by its fineness to produce yarn. The finer the wool used to produce the yarn is, the softer it will be on the skin. Extra fine merino wool can be worn directly on the skin even on the most sensible parts. It is very pleasant.

Knit type Rib

Rib knit can be identify because of its vertical ribs. Rib knit fabric is heavier compared to Jersey and generally very stretchy. It is used to make high quality garments that are stretchy without the use of elasthane. It is ideal for making base layers.

Lightweight merino wool knit 190gsm

This is an indicator of the merino wool fabric thickness. GSM stands for grams per square meter. This thickness is lightweight and very comfortable to wear in warmer weather. It can also be used as a base layer under a warmer layer or shirt in everyday use.

Discover the advantages of Merino and Tencel combined

Combining merino wool and Tencel offers a versatile solution that prioritizes comfort, breathability, moisture management, and sustainability, making it an ideal choice for staying cool and stylish during the warmer months.

Breathability

Tencel, derived from wood pulp, is known for its exceptional breathability. It wicks moisture away from the skin, allowing it to evaporate quickly. When combined with wool, which has natural moisture-wicking properties, this blend ensures sweat and moisture are efficiently managed, keeping the body cool and dry in hot and humid conditions.

Thermoregulation

Wool is renowned for its thermoregulatory properties, effectively insulating in cooler temperatures while remaining breathable in warmer conditions. By blending it with Tencel, which enhances moisture management, the fabric adapts to the body's temperature fluctuations, helping to maintain a comfortable and consistent temperature throughout the day.

Antibacterial

Both Tencel and wool possess natural antibacterial properties. Tencel inhibits the growth of bacteria due to its smooth fiber surface, while wool's lanolin content offers inherent antimicrobial benefits. This combination minimizes the risk of odor development, keeping clothing fresh and hygienic during prolonged wear in hot weather.

Softness and Comfort

Tencel contributes a soft and smooth texture to the fabric, enhancing comfort against the skin. When blended with wool, which is inherently soft and fine, it creates a luxurious and gentle fabric that feels pleasant to wear, even in the heat.

Sustainability

Tencel is produced using environmentally friendly processes, and wool is a renewable and biodegradable material. By choosing garments made from Tencel and wool, consumers can support sustainable practices while enjoying durable and versatile clothing suitable for summer wear.

Ethical merino wool at its best

Merino wool is inherently natural, biodegradable, renewable and breathable. The merino wool we use is also carefully selected to only originate from ethically raised sheep flocks.
